Mike,
I see that Brooke answered on the other thread--thought I'd elaborate here to avoid irritating the QP1 troops.
The [largely ignored] point of R2, as Andy and/or Richard stressed, is to use the fundamentals; the CANSLIM scan is an ideal place to start.
All 'marto' could scan for with R1 was
Close >= $10
Earnings per share > 0
Relative Strength >= 80
Average daily volume > 30,000
Close within 15% of 52 week high
Briefly, CANSLIM is,
Current quarterly earnings--major % increase vs yr ago and accelerating.
Annual earnings increase--15-50% annual growth rate stable for 5 yrs.
New products, New management, *New Highs*
Shares of common--smaller is better.
Leader or Laggard--RS and RS within group.
Institutional ownership--not too much.
Market Direction--watch out for tops.

So can add indicators for all but M, especially for earnings--the R2 version of earnings exclude extraord items as CANSLIM want s.
