Message to the ESM - re: Attention on Handhelds

From mobile roadmap article:

The lower-power, more tightly packaged chips will enable Intel to push into markets from which it has so far been absent, such as that for handheld devices.

Please - Run with StrongArm for handhelds NOW! You now have the means to make the absolute leadership Windows CE products. StrongArm is the right architecture. StrongArm is the most efficient processor for pocket assistants and set top boxes anywhere. StrongArm is the most cost efficient of any competing processor. As for power consumption - it sips a measly quarter watt for Christ's sake. WAKE UP!

Please drop the insane idea that IA-32 will ever work in the handheld market. IA-32 has way too much going on inside it that is not relevant to handheld clients. Too much power - too much cost - no benefit for the consumer.

Please, listen to Ron Smith and let him run with StrongArm. You have the right leadership with the right architecture and the right resources. Just let him do it!

Thanks for your attention - I feel better now :)

Jeff

P.S. John Hull - Would appreciate you pass this along - Thanks.
