Well said. Well, except for the lack of paragraphs. But, what is "verklempt"?

Hey! Busted 25 early today. Currently 25 13/16.

News on CNBC about new entertainment/web/music machine. Along with a lot of praise phrases. Even a side by side comparison of stock growth since the first of the year with Dell. Apple wins that comparison.

Looking good. Will we see 26 plus today?

Happy Apple blossom Spring!

RyanF: <<In regards to the Merced situation...>>

Your expectation of Merced's success based on Intel's "focussed" efforts vs. the AIM group of Apple, IBM, Motorola's "unfocused" efforts on the PowerPC design is off the mark IMHO. All three are "focussed" on utilizing the PowerPC design in various ways. Moto is utilizing it in new communications/handhelds/industrial products. IBM is developing versions for their server/mainframe/supercomputer needs. Apple will be utilizing it for their consumer/server/portable/NC/desktop markets.

IBM's demo of a PowerPC integer processor running at 1,000 mhz shows they are hard at work integrating their best technologies and research on the capabilities of the basic PowerPC chip design. G4, with 2 to 4 multiprocessors and a huge shared L1 cache on the chip went "silicon" last December. 700+ mhz versions should debut this year. Rhapsody will leave NT looking like a MacPlus as far as speed when the G4's come out. I expect that this chip may just start to get interest should the price point be 1/4 of Merced as expected.

Ryan,

You make and interesting poing. But don't discount the expertise of IBM. They learned their lesson. I think they might have the right stuff in terms of long term vision.

INTC compared to IBM are roughly the same size. IBM has way more experience, expecially in client server.
