Good find, Teddy. I have a follow up question to yours: given the timing for submitting bids -- Oct. 98 and Feb. 99 -- what would be the timetable for commencement of drilling activities?

Opening up drilling projects in Australia simply increases the demand on a finite global drilling fleet. It increases the likelihood that if there are hints of dropping dayrates or utilization in one region, rigs can be moved elsewhere. Generally, that means dayrates and utilization don't drop much. That's the situation that keeps driller earnings smoking.
