I once asked also why any one would short at these levels and the mathematically compelling argument is this:

A short at .10 that falls a scant .02 is a 20 % return and the lower the better.

Plus some continue shorting in the hopes that they actually get the stock beaten up so much that either multiple reverse splits occur or the stock stops trading. At that point they get a spike in their rate of return because...if they never have to cover then they do not have a taxable event and their gross profit becomes net profit.

Rounding problem there - high was 0.1175
