I just realized there is great material for a really excellent tract to hand out right here in the discussions. I think I will cut and paste one, as the one I've attempted to do was rather boring ramble. Have lost that zeal you speak of, I assure you. That is of course a problem.
Now, as for David, my boss, what I didn't say is that of course for nearly a year at that point I had mentioned Jesus Christ and all aspects the Holy Spirit. I was often introduced to other commie lawyers are "our token Christian secretary" in love. I was highly evangelistic and they all got a lot of Jesus, believe me. The whole point is that the version of Jesus passed on to David his whole life just turned him off. That was the point. What turned him back on was the concept that the Heavenly Father was much more easy to understand. That there was much more of a connection in DAVID's mind between David himself and the Heavenly Father of the old T. than with the concept of the Jesus, so totally twisted sometimes into a weak little dope-smoking type hippy, swaying with a goofy grin making a peace sign with his fingers. Who couldn't distinguish between good and bad (strange, that's what the devil preaches--there is nothing bad, it's all good), would allow himself to be beat up by fools rather than lift a finger to defend himself (the turn the other cheek just turned David off, as he had a strong moral/justice strain himself, believe it or not). I can't relate to the Jesus of the "New Thing" church either. Often I'm not sure I recognize what we're talking about in the worship area. Who would enjoy that worship anyway? I can hardly stand to be around it. So, I feel He would interrupt it and then walk out. Personally. Yes. I do.
I took a very sweet and quiet and beautiful friend who really was
"a biker chick" and probably the person that got me into that area of life to church with me. IT was a rawcus rock show and when the music stopped Christie looked at me and in a loud voice for people to hear it she said to me "Grace, this is awful--why don't we go up in front and say something about it?" She was ready right there to put an end to it. We never went back. That praise band, by the way, all professional musicians of some sort before their copnverstion were still racing out the door after praise for CIGARETTES! True story, not lying.
I digress here in anger, sorry.
But in this instance, the brief understanding that Jesus IS a representation of Jehovah, and the two are the same, but not the same, per the words of Jesus himself, that is what David saw in a second, and I believe that second broke down the wall between him and Jesus as presented to him in his own church life.
Again, the church has dusted the HEavenly Father out the door as nonexistant and ceasing to be the day Jesus was born. What? Was the world godless while Jesus was in diapers? There is some concept here that jives with many millions of Christians and makes sense to them, that Jesus is totally and completely God, and it is the One in One. But it doesn't work with me, and obviously doesn't with Nancy. And it doesn't even work with scripture.
If Jesus told the people He loved not to touch Him, as he was going now to the Father, that's after the deed was done, the death and Ressurection accomplished, all sealed up and delivered, Jesus STILL POINTED MAN TO GOD ON THE THRONE.
Gregor, the attack on Nancy for acknowledging He still exists in any form but the heavenly person of Jesus has almost been insane. The gentiles can speak of the Heavenly Father--ah, but let a Jewish person and they are damned as legalists. Is this right? I just need to know, because it seems like we have drifted into a spiritual madness with the new conversions of Jewish people everywhere and the rise of the aryan church thing. It is making a bad omlet, I think.
That is the reason for the Father and the Son. With only one again the concept is lost and man can twist and change it to MAN'S (satan's also) liking. Given the balance between the two, and the witness of the Spirit saying, "Yes, Yes, this is true" there is no error.
I still think you feel you are caught in a deadly war of people who don't understand that Jesus is the Lord and Savior period, and the only way to the Father. The problem is, they have eliminated the Father for the most part, and ended up with a horrible mockery which more and more and more reminds me of a Yanni concert.
We are drifting toward something strange, Gregor, and I have never been more serious in my life saying it. I believe the church is drifting together slamming their hands together to rawcus music to a huge cliff. I say this because I believe it, and I hope and pray I am totally wrong. Tune into the Odyssy channel, now "Christian" in nature. It is almost mostly black entertainment, rarely white from what I've seen, and it is a huge jazz/rock variety show/audition, (as is TBN for the most part) but people are wearing robes. It seems to get worse and worse, and is based undoubtedly on the excesses noticed on all white, mostly, TBN. Where is the end of this?
Getting back to the utter holiness of the relationship with the Heavenly Father of the OT--WHO ALSO IS JESUS-- suddenly it makes no sense.
Until you start hearing shouts of Grace! Grace! and New Covenant! New Covenant!
Well, I still don't think that is washing that well in high heavenly circles, as I've shared with you.
What do you think about these statements? This is the whole basis of the war on askgod. This is the entire basis, believe me. The way it started, the way it went for 2000 years, and the rather bizarre ending it is coming to.
I'm hammering this to death. This will be my last statement on it, and I don't think there is any way to ever get it across to others. It simply is something I guess that can't be bridged, huh?
