re Kandinsky: they brought his Composition XII (or some similar number, gulp) from Odessa for the exposition to Munich last year. He was here for some time before the 1st war in the school of Anton Azbe - z like J in Je t'aime, and accent on the e, like Uzhbah, btw Azbe is my countryman (g) Back to Kandinsky: he was cooking this picture inside his head for 4 years and then painted it in 3/4 days . There's photographs (B/W) showing how this thing exploded onto the canvas... When I ride up to Garmisch and pass Murnau, I always remember him and his pictures from those times.
