First time poster on the CYMI thread.

I don't want to cause too much of a stir with the buy and hold crowd, but CYMI has been and I expect will continue to perform very well for the very short termers, a la daytrading.

3 to 5% intraday motion with reasonable volume 'tells' makes it an enjoyable ride.

I believe the volatility will continue for several more days as short termers ride it around. You folks that are looking out more than a few weeks should ignore the small bits of news. The action is driven by the action, reflexive motion, not driven by fundamentals.

Enjoy the ride,

Ira

<<<Cymer is quietly readying itself for a big run>>>

Yes it is. Certainly from a technical standpoint the stock has formed a powerful basing. It hasn't been possible to sell this stock short and make money for a long time now. Stocks that aren't right to sell short are generally very good candidates to buy.

The stock's least line of resistance is developed and can be seen by the refusal to go down since the February runup.

Disclaimer: Despite strong technical indicators the underlying fundamentals are always the most important factor in a stock's move. Something my friend Mr. Master Of The Universe Knucklehead Smith 4 Million Share Short Regardless Of Price In A Thin Float Stock Man didn't think he needed to know.

Good Luck To Each And All

Robert, I agree that the Canon announcement is good news. The attractiveness of being able to offer a superior support for DUV equipment does benefit both companies. By making a stronger commitment to joint service support, manufacturers like Canon can position themselves more advantageously in the market. It also takes some of the support burden off CYMI and shares it with Canon. Others may follow suit with similar agreements. Though it is hard to tell how much real impact it will have, it seems to raise the barrier to entry problems for alternative suppliers somewhat higher.

RE:While there certainly doesn't seem to be much substance to the announcement I believe it is telling in several ways.

Hope you were joking about this comment. If you don't find Cymer and Canon improving technical support of the laser to be of substance, what is?(rhetorical) Downtime in a FAB is HUGE deal.

Bob

In the last two weeks Cymer has effectively put to rest any questions concerning its future. I bought several months ago and rode the downtrend. I agree with you that this is an extremely important announcement, and plan to add to my shares.
