Mark,
to me there is no comparison between CSCO and BAY,BAY wins by a mile. Why was BAY a buy? All the analysts said to short it,the sentiment here in SI,was that BAY would have to be bought or go out of business. Its a psychological game we play. Yep, two biggest telecom holdings I have are BAY and HLIT. I have been reading the installations and new commitments, and BAY has about 90% of them here in North America,COMS has some also. Those are the two to watch.
In overall telecom,Nortel is kicking some serious butt on everyone, with DWDM products,LMDS,and every corner of the broadband arena.
Nortel is the only one with the fiber optic expertise that HLIT has. IN the area of digital, there are many competitors.
Yes, maybe I cannibalized myself buying both BAY,and HLIT. Maybe I shot myself with a curare dart in the foot.
