The last time there was a road show, just prior to the secondary, the stock price soared. This time, it is stagnant. My guess is that Seth and Sam (Noggin) are correct, and that MRV's leaders have made it clear that the company is not for sale. Accordingly, the hope of a buyout premium being priced into the stock is fatuous. Moreover, it probably trades at a discount to its growth rate due to anticipation that MRV will be the target of cutthroat competition from the larger networkers before it is allowed to make very significant improvements in its market share. While I am disappointed in the short term that I won't enjoy a price spike due to a takeover, if management is in fact successful in effectuating their game plan, the long term rewards will likely be much greater. The quality of the management is what has kept me invested in MRV for nearly the last 2 years, and although I am disappointed with the price of the stock at present, especially given the current state of the market, MRV hasn't yet failed to produce. So, I will stay invested.
