------>We order our furniture direct from North Carolina.

I've spent a good deal of time on the phone and on the net comparing prices, etc. , with ten or more N C , S C, Ken, and Tenn mfgs and brokers.

There is, unfortunately, no availability for some of the brands, especially the higher end from them. The only one I came across which fit with brands, pricing, shipping, and diversity was a company called Edgar from NC, as I recall. One of my good friends, who has retired from the retail furniture business here in town got me a catalog and put me in touch with them.

I hate to shop, so, mostly when Marilyn goes furniture shopping, I go to the track, as both most of the time are in Dallas........ggg
The dining room and bedroom suites she purchased late last year were Thomasville. It was a tossup between that and Henredon but I liked the burl on the mahogany better on Thomasville.

What we got today was a new mattress for the spare bedroom, cause the grandkids are spending their spring break with us next week and Red ordered a couch for the new media room I fixed late last year. She had me re do the bar room and put in a big tv......gggg
There is a small town about 50 miles from here where (if the brand is available to them) will order for cost + 10%.
Over a span of the last ten years, we've spent a bundle up there in Okla.
They can't ship or deliver, however. you must pick it up.
For example on the mattress I got this afternoon , we saved about $150 bucks from the lowest price I could find, and the couch was over $400 cheaper than even the best we could find in Dallas for the same brand.
I put the brand names in this post and decided to delete them.....don't want to get the ol boy in trouble.....gggg

One of my classmates from high school, owns a big store in Durham.
She won't ship out of her area because of fear of the mfgs.
I checked the prices on some of what we've gotten in Ok and she assures me that indeed, it's cost + ten. She will meet the price, but I've got to go to NC to pick it up. That's probably a four day trip.......

If you will send me the name of your supplier, I'll be glad to try and compare, cause ----as Lisa has noted---Red isn't finished buying yet.
