On the premise that what's good for DVD is good for LSI, and that as advertised here the DVD cycle is beginning to build some serious mo no small thanks to the PC DVD introductions and the lack of infighting in this arena, here's sparkling news about DVD:

E.T. Call home!

We've just passed the price point of major consumer acceptance.

----

I'll stand by my earlier comments on DVD. This is going to be huge, the timing is now, and LSI is well positioned to reap the benefits.

----

So this makes (possibly - I say possibly only because there will be a lot of competition) the 3rd big chip for LSI - DCAM, GSM and now DVD - all in early stages of explosive S curves. A very good thing. Tack on FC and maybe CDMA soon and we are good to go.

----

Whether today's price action will last beyond today is a whole different story. I suspect it won't - the scaredy cats will be back soon. Still one must be encouraged by the volume one day after yesterday's 2 million downer.

Shane.

Frank,

Wow, you go back pretty far. I didn't even know that Ross Perot was involved with Dupont. I thought EDS was his big thing, and he was such a pain in the A$$ that GM gave him a Billion to get rid of him.<g>

Frank those PUTs bother me also. It is dejavu so just be on your guard. I do not see LSI moving too far to quick. Some basing and testing up to 24 and down to 22. If something good is coming out than maybe a test of 25 1/4 soon. But earnings is around the corner and everyone will be skittish.

Volume was good today but slowed down this afternoon. Nothing to write home about.<g>
