Shivu, House has been careful in guiding analyst estimates for BAY and has issued the proper cautionary statements in advance. The fundies who loaded up on BAY at 28-29 have taken their profits off the table. Now they are waiting to see if BAY will drop the other shoe in the next earnings report. As for backend loading of the quarter, rumors often arise during earnings season. If true, then results will be better than the company can say now; if not true, then the market is pricing this into the stock already.

Notice that BAY is hovering around its 200-day ema. Technically if BAY dips below 27 1/2 on an intraday basis I'd be wary and if it closes above 30 on significant volume a few times then I'd say BAY was entering a bull channel again.

Note ORCL has hovered about its 200-day ema and will announce earnings/forward guidance tomorrow. Then its trend will be clear. Somewhat analogous to the trading action being witnessed in BAY.

Do you have a position in BAY ... or just mulling it over?
