The best opportunity for any of the lithium polymer batteries is no doubt in laptops rather than cellphones. Companies will be able to get 2x revenue per watt hour that they can get compared to cellphones. And the price of laptops has remained relatively stable comared to the giveaways for cellphones. Personally I feel the replacement market for cellphone batteries would be as good as the OEM market. We'll see. Key remains being able to produce in volume...

David: Could be true re what might be retrofitted at this point in time, but feel that as the lipoly batteries become more available & competition brings prices down, I would think that a buyer who has the choice would elect to pay a couple of bucks more for a longer lasting battery. I know that in the laptop world, definitly there's a market that is huge. A small example is the recreational boating market that has all this new navigational software integrated with GPS. Most of the smaller boat owners who don't have 120V power & are buying laptops to utilize the capability. Most of these vessels are out for 4 to 6 hours of cruising before they come back to a port & during that time, having the longer lasting battery makes all the difference between a rock &, perhaps, a soft place....
But then we do have to get there don't we....VLNC, IMHO, should be one of the winners!!! Regards, Dennis
