Does anyone have the recent number of outstanding short sales against CPQ?? The last time I checked, (about a month ago), the figure was quite large. I wonder if these shorts have had a chance to cover during this downdraft, or are adding to their position? If and when we get any significant movement upward, I would think the short covering would propel it higher very quickly (although I understand that a lot of this is due to arbitrage as well)!

Thread: EP reassurance?
Quote from (an advert for) a new book sponsored by Price Waterhouse:
(No ivory tower, no speeches, just straight talk.)

' Just some wisdom from STRAIGHT FROM THE CEO:
"Be careful about focusing on your industry's market leaders, particularly if they are losing market share. Your market intelligence needs to extend beyond the traditional boundaries of your industry and its current products. Your traditional competitors will often be the wrong place to look for signs of fundamental change."

I haven't read the book, but clearly EP thinks 'Outside the Box', maybe literally ,and figuratively too!
