Gary, there are many good articles at gold-eagle.com covering such matters in detail John Kutyn "Economic collapse" is one that comes to mind. Here is a short answer,from the US perspective a stronger dollar makes US exports less competitive on pricing which hurts profits of US companies but cheaper imports keep price inflation down and helps keep domestic interest rates lower. There is a point,somewhere, when a large enough trade deficit will cause the dollar to weaken. In the short run a strong dollar can help fuel the stk mkt bubble. There are so many imbalances out there that when they reverse it will be painful. Mike
