A good description Mr. Mark. I couldn't tell you if you hear them or feel them coming...or both. It's kind of like a sub-woofer sound.

After the 89 quake there were many times my family and I'd jump out of bed or be headed for the door before an aftershock hit...then we got used to it and start judging whether we should scam, seek cover or stay put. Guessing, I'd say time wise there was 1 to 1-1/2 seconds before the jolt.
