Any new policy will exact a price. You point out that for real stocks, the need to choose among several threads can be tedious. Now, I'd guess that folks who have real money riding on, say, DELL will read 50000 posts whether they're in one long thin line or in several parallel threads! And the avg Joe will quickly figure out which threads are worth reading. (This is of course a subjective call made by the reader.) One of the problems that I see is with concepts like "excessively irrelevant" and "disgusting" or even "genuine" (re threats). These simply must have a warm body available to decide whutz whut. Jill can't and shouldn't have to arbitrate a thousand lively debates. So - if it were my call, I'd shoulder the tedium in exchange for a larger, more diverse and more immediately accessible police presence. But, of course, it ain't my call. I don't even have a thread to MY MY MY name.

< for the Coffee Shop: no really disgusting obscenity I am amused at this Janice, ands all the more because you said it. Who really is to determine what is a disgusting obscenity. Debate would be unending and might even digress towards political associations and preferences. Would it be by popular vote? or subjective analysis? Some might even say that there is no such thing as such a thing. sorry I'm way behind on this thread and just came across something I wanted to post about.
