NEC, Hitachi, HP Japan to Sell Hand-held PC With Windows CE2.0

Tokyo, March 11 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Japan unveiled an
upgrade to its Japanese-language version of Windows CE, its
operating software for small hand-held computers.

NEC Corp., Hitachi Ltd. and Hewlett Packard Japan said today
they will sell hand-held computers equipped with Windows CE2.0.
Casio Computers and Compaq Japan are planning to announce the
launch of mini-computers with the updated operating system.

Sales of hand-held PCs are expected to grow 8.3 percent in
1998 from a year ago to 760,000 units, according to IDC Japan, a
research company that tracks high-tech industries.

Improvements to Windows CE2.0 include color monitor support
and enhanced Internet and data transmission capabilities. It also
recognizes hand-written Japanese and has a voice-data input
function.

MOT should continue to fall to 45 then have a nice bounce.
It is hard to short this stock longer term since they have come down
from 90 and are pretty well diversified.
