re: "Hewlett-Packard Co. (HWP) 60 15/16 -9/16: Lewis E. Platt, CEO of computing and printer company, says that the PC industry currently encountering too much supply in the inventory channel; inventory build-up is leading to pricing pressures in the middle to high-end of the PC market, but only sees a "modest impact" on company's PC margins....."

SuperSonics,
There must be some mistake in this quote :)
This quote implys that there is an over supply in "MIDDLE TO HIGH-END" of the PC market.

This can not be. I have read to many post from all knowing Dell shareholders that the inventory problem is with very old low end CPQ Pentimum clasics 166's and 200-mmx's. The Kind that DELL does not sell anymore. Since they don't sell them, the CPQ problem has no effect on DELL. :)

If anything happens at the high end, Will DELL be effected ?

Jim
