Your scenario is too rosy IMO. I somewhat agree with your point that ILECs will need to use CAP for the time being to begin the deployment, but I think that the quantities of equipment they buy will be very limited, unless WSTL or whatever other supplier garanties the software upward upgrade to the upcomming standarts.

There are 2 more things that are worrisome to me.

1. The backbone of the Internet is not ready to deal with very high speed of the last mile

2. Analysts are downgrading the future earnings of all current and upcomming ADSL players (WSTL, AWRE, ORCTF, PAIR, ADTN and so on). Maybe it their opinion the cable is beginning to prevail?
