Saudi Arabia King Fahd Released From Hospital
AP-Dow Jones News Service

RIYADH (AP)--King Fahd was discharged from a hospital late
Wednesday night, the state-run television station reported.

Brushing aside reports of the monarch's ill health, the television showed the
Saudi Arabian monarch waving to a crowd of well-wishing princes as he
was pushed in a wheelchair to a limousine.

Fahd, who is in his mid-70s, was admitted to the hospital on Monday.
Before his release, an unnamed palace official denied reports that Fahd
had undergone surgery for a gall bladder infection.

The brief television report simply said that Fahd had been discharged from
the hospital. It gave no details of the reason for his hospitalization.
