Swung by Costco last night to peruse the computer aisle. Sure enough, the Trigem computer with 200 Mhz IDT Winchip was sitting there on the shelf for $899. I have to say, even though I own IDTI and am familiar with the Winchip, it struck me as odd to see this computer sitting there with this "unknown" chip in it. The next least expensive computer was a Compaq with 200 Mhz AMD for $1099. It seems to me, if the Winchip is going to have any chance, IDTI needs to either (1) land a contract with a major OEM, like Compaq or HP, or (2) do some advertising and gain some name recognition. Maybe this will happen as they ramp production or release the C6+.

IDTI has been approached with some of the ten largest Computer makers, Their strategy now is not to sign till they increase their production. those OEM requires 500,000- 700,000 Chip per Quarter. However, eventially will sign.
