Steve, NO NO NO! I tried to make this clear ... I heard from an employee (an engineer) at WDC that the rumor is rampant at WDC.

This individual is NOT a senior executive. REPEAT - NOT AN EXECUTIVE! I tried to make this clear ... since in prior posts I had mentioned that I knew some of the management team and they are very good. I do not want anyone thinking this rumor comes from WDC management ... IT DOES NOT.

That said, IMO WDC would be good buy for IBM.

Steve, IMO, an apology is in order! I specifically stated that I did NOT hear this rumor from management. You twisted this around (hopefully by accident). Please reread my post ... and post your retraction.
