Paul Fine: Hi Paul, am looking forward to your usual detailed end-of-quarter forecast for earnings - or is it too soon? Reading your recent posts I anticipate you might say that visibility is not good enough for forecasts in this quarter. Are you aware of any hard, reliable information that BAY will not do as well as it hoped it would this quarter at the last earnings cc, at the New York meeting with the Street or at the more recent meetings with analysts, which resulted in a number of upgrades from brokerage houses? Does the absence of news mean that there will be bad news?

I notice that 3COMS has not warned even though its "turnaround" from the inventory and accounting problems following the merger was one stage behind BAY's turnaround. I notice that ORACLE is now warning of a surprise on the upside. You may recall it was the Oracle warning which precipitated the serious pullback in most tech stocks in the last quarter.
