Don't worry your exotic bejangled head over asteroids, gypsy. It has been discussed before that Ronald Reagan's Star Wars technology may be adapted to making asteroids impotent. And we have a number of years until we have to have our military might perfected and honed in on that big one that is headed our way, anyway.

I think the old saying might have been about art imitating life . . .
