Truman, you can be assured that the overwhelming majority
of weavers on this thread stand with you one hundred percent.
As founder of this thread you have unique powers of persuasion
that cannot be challenged by any others here. Your well
thought out posture on Sir Dippy is seconded here. Hopefully
posters will simply ignore his mindless ramblings and move
on to worthwhile posts. Unfortunately, there is no method
yet to rid ourselves of any moron that may wander onto this
thread but hopefully some enterprising company will come up
with a way to nuke such nerds.

During these difficult days for our thread and begging the indulgence
of the good fellows in this forum, I take the liberty of reprising a
segment of post #4068. That segment attempts, however feebly,
to offer a re-statement of purpose with respect to this topic.

A search of the archives at Silicon Investor reveals the dry bones of
legion defunct threads. Let us hope that this forum-- now in its six-
teenth month and having flourished, arguably, during Brinker's finest
hours-- avoids that ghostly fate and continues to be emblematic of
the best that SI StockTalk has to offer.

From post #4068:

"This thread has become a cross-linked feature of Bob Brinker's own
extremely popular website at bobbrinker.com and is a
frequently visited and well known site at Silicon Investor. Indeed,
Bob Brinker's own son, Bob Brinker, Jr., a webmaster in his own
right, has been known to visit here occasionally since the early
days of the thread. That being said, what we are trying to do here
is to preserve the health and integrity of this thread as a credible
source of public information and guarantee this thread's continued
presence at Silicon Investor as a stimulating, thoughtful, and
relatively congenial place for the exchange of ideas spawned by
Bob Brinker's weekend radio show. A place where a newcomer...
will feel at ease and happily contribute of his knowledge, experience,
and insight within the context of this Brinker inspired forum. This
is the avowed purpose of the thread, and we cling to the notion that
this greater mission is pre-eminent and is worthy of preservation."

My understanding is that Markettimer is in no way proprietary.
It is a document, similar to a magazine, that one pays for
in exchange for receiving it in the mail. As you can find it
in many libraries, the information contained in MarketTimer
is in the public domain, and can be cited freely.
The timing model that Bob uses, is proprietary; this is why
you don't know what it is, even as a subscriber.
Proprietary information is typically not given out, except
under signed, legally enforceable confidentiality agreements.

Would you feel any differently discussing the latest
Popular Science project with a nonsubscriber?
