steve this is just plain wrong... if amat lost half of japan and sea it would make a loss this year as fixed costs in this bizzz are high... also if asian fabs stop ordering they cycle will break down and everybody will to some extent stop upgrading because margins are way to thin right now to support curent capex... my best guess is that intc cuts capex next q because the easiest way to restore margins, is reduce capacity and capex at the same time... it's an old trick... it happens every time...
