Any OEX or DJ puts you may have taken should probably be exited today if you have not already.

Expiration is always an uncertain week.

AV,

Was wondering what your thoughts were on AMAT for the rest of '98 and '99 and beyond. Specifically, do you see the current slump as a potential factor in creating a cycle longer than those of years past. For instance, AMAT was on track to earn ~$2.40-$2.50 this year had SEA not stepped into the picture. Now with capex plans being deferred, what is the liklihood that we could see an explosion in orders late '98/'99? IMHO, every day that goes by w/o expansion plans by the semis is more latent demand that must be filled at a later date. One which BTW, may come sooner than some people think<GGG> Any thoughts on this? Are these merely random rantings of someone trying to convince himself of something which may not come to fruition?

Regards,

Brian
