ToySoldier:

Thank you for the tech and layman's version of Netware 5.0, its value, competitors, and future for Novell. By being technical, at least you are challenging me to learn more about Novell than just the candy- coated understanding that many shareholders know. It helps when others are looking under the hood of the car for us, as we can still appreciate the general themes that you and Jim M. are trying to get across.

By the way, I was just speaking with a friend of mine that works at Oregon State University. I asked him what type of network software they use. He says they (administration) recently got NT, but use to have Netware and that Netware was so much better. So there you go, the customers knows best ;) He's not a computer person, but I believe he knows the difference between the two. NOVL now has to get the product out the door, thats the next big challenge after the release.

Regards,

Quad-K

Hi Toy Soldier,

I'm not a technical person but from a lot of discussions on the thread I can follow along in a halting manner. I was wondering if you have had a chance to use the beta 2. From reviews I've seen they were having stability problems with Java and it was kind of slow. I'm curious what some of the technical folks on the thread think about the beta if anyone has used it. I've followed a lot of discussions on Java and am under the impression that it could either make or break Moab depending on how well they can get it to work. From what I understand to a large extent Corels using Java eventually turned Corel into a penny stock as a result of the problems it caused.

I agree that 5.0 will have an impact on the stock price when it's released but it has to be good and it has to be marketed to produce revenue.

Regards,

Don

I love tech talk, I'm just without a clue. The tech talk is what is either going to work with this stock, or take it down. That's why I wish I knew more.

As for your take on the software. I have this used computer, because ALL I originally wanted was good MSWord 95 to do my personal writing with and finish off some stuff on discs. I was warned to get a fast new computer, and I go, OH, No,.....No......I don't need that, I'm not a computer nerd, and only want a nice word processor with other capabilities.

Six months later I'm sitting here with this thing that take about four seconds to make up its mind on anything at all--sometimes a minute, it seems on other net moves, and I could throw it isn the trash. I need to get it upgraded, and that's me, the moron at the very bottom of the computer pile. You bet it's going to happen. Everyone will have to have more and more of everything because apparently the net, especially the net, is a cyber derivitive of herion, and everything else makes more money faster whatever you're doing and using the computer for..

I really can't believe that I have sat at stalled now or down on all investments for nearly a year, and it just seems it should have been impossible to do, but I did it. Strange. I just can't seem to get over it. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to respond.
I would like to see $15, as we all would.
