Year 2000 Wire/ Synergy 2000, Inc. Announces Desktops Unlimited to Further Strengthen Year 2000 Offering for the Desktop, LAN, and Client/Server Computing Environments

Business Wire via Dow Jones

WASHINGTON, D.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1998--

Synergy 2000 Will Use IST Year 2000 Packs to Extend Services

Into Desktop, LAN, and Client/Server Environments.

Synergy 2000, Inc., (www.Synergy2000.com) an Information Technology
integration and management consulting firm specializing in enterprise-wide
Information Technology Conversions for Year 2000 and beyond, has announced the
formation of Desktops Unlimited to provide Year 2000 solutions for desktop, LAN,
and client/server Year 2000 problems. Desktops Unlimited will provide focused
solutions including automated tools, Project Management, Technical Staff and
Methodology to solve the Year 2000 problem for desktops and LANs.

The formation of Desktops Unlimited - launched on March 9, 1998 at the LOMA
conference in Atlanta, GA (the Life Insurance industry's annual systems
conference) - coincides with the announcement that Synergy 2000 has become an
Alliance Partner with IST Development, Inc. IST Development (www.ISTinfo.com) is
a leading provider of software products that enable corporations to efficiently
assess Year 2000 risks and analyze applications and data for date sensitivities
across the most popular LAN and desktop applications. The IST Year 2000 Packs
provide comprehensive analysis of databases and spreadsheet files from Microsoft
and Lotus, as well as source code from the most popular programming languages.
Using the IST Year 2000 Packs, we are able to identify non-compliant date issues
and then assess the risk and impact on the client's business. The client can
then intelligently determine which programs, spreadsheets, databases must be
remediated and determine priorities based on business requirements.

"With increasing awareness that Year 2000 compliance affects LANs and
desktops, as well as mainframe, client/server, and embedded systems, the demand
for desktop solutions is growing," said Eli Dabich, Jr. President of Synergy
2000. "Adding Desktops Unlimited and the IST Year 2000 Packs to our
comprehensive Year 2000 solution enables Synergy 2000 to wage a multi-front war
on our clients' Year 2000 problem for mainframe, client/server, LAN, desktop,
and embedded systems."

Synergy 2000: One stop shop for mainframe, client/server, LAN,
desktop and embedded systems Y2K solutions

Information Technology Departments are finding that the fragmented and
decentralized PC and LAN Year 2000 problem is even more troublesome and costly
than the mainframe problem. The number of files can be overwhelming and users
are free to personalize their desktop applications without following Information
Technology Y2K compliance standards or creating documentation to track
date-sensitive changes. At this late date, clients are looking for one-stop-shop
Year 2000 service providers that can provide an integrated, enterprise-wide
approach to solving their Year 2000 problem. With the clients' needs as a
driving force, Synergy 2000 developed its comprehensive approach to all systems
environments - mainframe, client/server, LAN, desktop, and embedded systems.

"Year 2000 compliance programs require both management and technical
expertise, and often demand a greater time commitment than many companies are
able to absorb," said Jeanette Smith, Executive Vice President. "We offer
management, technical resources, and automated tools which will be greatly
enhanced by our Desktops Unlimited offering and the additional focus and
services for the desktop, LAN, and client/server environments."

Synergy 2000 has developed a worldwide network of strategic alliances
specializing in Information Technology. The Synergy Group enables the Company to
tailor its services and products to meet clients' needs and provide a flexible
and variable, cost-effective program for labor intensive Y2K projects.

Patrick: It does Coke little good to get their production plants compliant if the rest of the empire can't bottle and distribute. If you read KO's history over the last 10 years, you will see that KO has invested heavily in the bottling and distribution side. The deals are complex, but KO ends up with a bottler/distributor with muscle in region after region. Any "independent" that balks at becoming compliant is risking its relationship. KO is the emperor, the bottlers are regional princes. The emperor will be issuing the orders on this one.
