S&P DOWNGRADES 8 INDONESIAN FIRMS TO CREDITWATCH NEGATIVE JAKARTA - Standard & Poor's has revised the CreditWatch on eight Indonesian companies to negative from developing following the downgrade of the foreign and local currency ratings of the country. The companies are Asia Pulp & Paper Co. Ltd, Barito Pacific Timber (PT), Daya Guna Samudera (PT), Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Corp (PT), Lontar Papyrus Pulp & Paper Industry (PT), Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia (PT), Pindo Deli Pulp & Paper Mills (PT) and Satelit Palapa Indonesia (PT).

MALAYSIA'S SIME DARBY EXPECTS US$64 MLN LOSS FROM BANK SALE KUALA LUMPUR - Sime Darby Bhd [OTC BB:SIDBY - news], a well diversified Malaysian group, said it expects to book a RM246 million (US$64 million) loss from the proposed sale of its 60.35 percent stake in Sime Bank Bhd. Sime Darby earlier this week signed an agreement with RHB Bank Bhd, Rashid Hussain Berhad and KUB Malaysia to sell its shareholding in the financially troubled bank.
