Skeptic,
<How about adding a valuation section to CK's report?>

NO

I'm not a paid analyst. I put the TAVA Research Report together for my friends/family to educate them about the company and the embedded system problem ... and was willing to share with SI participants and lurkers. The embedded system problem and the systems integration is an industry that very few understand.

I went out to dinner with the plant manager of a gas transmission company earlier this past week, who thanked me for "saving his company".

They didn't know they had a Y2K problem. After reading my TAVA report, he went back to the plant, with my report in hand, and found out ... they did!

He called up the $20 mil engineering/consulting company that does a lot of their work. Asked about potential Y2K problems. Answer: "No problem". The plant manager then cited specific examples he found in his plant, after seeing it referenced in my TAVA report.

Dead silence on the other end of the phone.

Guess who are now proud owners of the TAVA CD? And, who are now TAVA stockholders? They see a lot of potential for the CD in the Oil & Gas industry..

It amazes me, that I'm a girl with NO engineering background. Yet, here I am ... educating engineers!

Skeptic, it absolutely fascinates me how you consistently criticize the company, valuation opinions and bulls on this thread - yet you say you "hold a small position". Very weird. Why don't you ever post on other threads where you have a bigger position than here?

Hope you're not one of these guys, they're usually the only ones who post as much as you do on certain threads:

Skeptic, excellent post. Just to let you know that someone appreciates and agrees with your side of the valuation argument.

Tava story sounds fine, but what is it worth?

Valuation needs estimates of future earnings, no different to any other company.

1. Year 2000 earnings should have P/E of 1, given
2. Non-y2k earnings calculated separately. These can take into account any benefit from investment of y2k earnings, increased company experience and increased exposure to potential clients.

I am amazed that 'investors' are not inclined to at least estimate a fair value for the stock. Or, more easily, reverse engineer it. Take a future, wished for, high stock price and calculate what growth and earnings match this price. Then do a reasonableness check.
