Do we know for certain that the $1.08 was fully audited and
signed for by C&L? I'm a little wary that there might have
been "mistakes" in previous quarters.

There is an interesting article in the most recent Scientific
American called "The End of Cheap Oil." The authors argue that
the world oil production should peak within the next ten years
or so. This should be bullish for oil and natural gas related
investments.. The price of oil is so cheap now that it seems as
though no one is even considering this as a possibility.

Mark: I've decided to take a small position in ECGOF if it drops down to $8..only about 1 pt away at this point, and if we get a little nervousness in the market (which we are way overdue for), it could get there.

By the way, thanks a lot for stopping NTBK dead in its tracks <ggg>.

Mark.

I was told that the total backlog in 1997 was 127 million versus the recently published 248 million. Do you (or anyone else) understand how those two numbers relate in terms of new business versus acquisitions. I guess you would need to know the 1997 backlogs of all of the current divisions that were not officially part of Eco this time last year and add them to the 127m figure (probably a job better suited for an analyst once we get one)

Best regards,
Eric
