IDC and projected 98 worldwide PC sales.[Anyone care to project DELL's
growth rate for 98??]

Greg and all: In case any of you missed going to IDC's link provided
by Gabriel.

IDC's projections:

Projected worldwide PC growth rate for 98 =13.4% (90.6 mil units)
USA =15.4% (36.3 mil units)
W.Europe =13.8% (22.1 mil units)
[to offset slowdown in Asia Pacific]
Aisa Pacific = 6.9% (11 mil units)
[continued strength in China,India and Taiwan]
Japan = 7.3% ( 8.5 mil units)
[expected increase in 98 from 97]

ROW [Rest of the World] =18% (12.5 mil units)
[Canada,L.America,M.East,Africa,Mediterranean,E/C Europe.]

[IDC continues to believe the shift toward lower
prices and more efficient business models favors
the largest vendors,who have broader product lines and
geographical scope.
This group of vendors continues
to gain share on the total market and increasingly looks
to take share from each other, particularly in the more
lucrative commercial market. As a group Compaq, IBM, H-P
and Dell gained more than five percent market share points
in the 1997 worldwide PC market......]

Anyone care to project DELL's growth rate in 98?????
