Questions for you market-savvy Traders:

Does anyone know what it means when a stock trades between the bid and offer? For example, yesterday at 1:21 pm, TSIS was trading 51› by 53› and a trade went trough at .515›? Was that a market maker sell? What would that trade have meant if it went off at .525›? A MM buy?

Toward the close of today's trading we were at 53› by 56› when at least one trade went off at 55›. Again, MM trade? How do you know if a Market maker is buying or selling? How do you know its a market maker? Isn't it conceivable that the bid was raised to 55› briefly and TSIS had limit orders to sell at 55› which, after they were executed, forced the bid back down?

If anyone can help, I'm eager for education. Thanks,

qcom
