I believe Win98 will sell just fine. The Win98/Win95 relationship strikes me as very similar to that of Win3.1/Win3.0, i.e. enhancements to a milestone release with focus on performance and bugs. Win3.1 was a blockbuster in terms of revenue.

performance is conerned, I wouldn't know and care. Surfing the
web don't need much improvement from OS and I'll be happy with
win3.1 for a very long time with my old computer.

win98 should be a good sale. It's the upgrade from 95->98 that I
don't follow the logic unless win95 has major deficiecy.

Corporations will wait initially until ALL applications proved to
be 'compatible' without having to upgrade ALL at once.
