Robert
I think people are given free will so that they can make their own choices and follow their own paths in life. That includes the choices of good and evil. I dont believe that the path is same for anyone and that the paths that our souls choose to follow are found within ourselves.(I know that will not sit well with many participants of this thread, but it is how I feel) We all have the choice to do good and evil, but not everyone has an innate inclination to do evil.

The thing that I find interesting in many of the arguements that I read here is that people claim that God has given them free will, yet these same people claim that if you do not strictly obey the scriptures that you will be damned to hell for eternity. That is not Free Will. It is quite the opposite.
Many people seem to place more worth on the Word of God and so little on the experience of God, which in my mind is nothing more and nothing less than Love and Compassion. A willingness to see the truth and beauty in all people and things. If that is a little to "New Agey" for people here, I apologize, I certaintly mean no disrespect to anyone on this thread.

Mark

Bob Barry, as a lurker once said, please cut me some slack!

You applaud Mark Silver for being the only person here to answer you according to the way you wish to be answered.

Well, Bob Barry, here is a quarter for you to buy the clue that shows you that you and Mark Silver are about the only persons here
who have not willingly given their lives over to the heart and soul and mind of Jesus Christ.

With certain human traits still hanging on like barnacles, and no one here being either overly pious, or phoneys seeking the recognition of each other, you and Mark agree because neither one of you know Jesus Christ from Yanni giving a concern. Actually, when I watch him I realize that had our precious Lord exhibited one ounce of such, "adore me, adore me" self-aggrandizing mock-spirituality, He would never have been crucified for my sins.

I don't know, Bob, but I think sometimes the Lord would rather those who follow Him actually do what He said: Tell them about me, tell them about the Kingdom of Heaven and that it is as close as their hand if they simply want to reach out and receive it, answer all questions, then when it's hopeless, bid them farewell, and shake the dust off your shoes and leave it in the house lest you take any of the paganism with you. (Just my take on why one would shake the dust from the house off of your shoes before you leave that house.)_

Just a thought, IMHO, only, of course, and then what could I know having done this same thing we're going through with you here, with about 5,000 hardened intellectuals professing a relationship with God when they admit they don't even believe there is one. And then they end up admitting they are actually hopelessly addicted to porn, or can't give up heroin, or other reasons quite a bit more compelling to rejecting Jesus Christ. I trust, of course, none of these problems fit you, and I'm sure they don't. But something does, and you're sure not going to tell us, that's for sure.
Again, just my HO on the matter.
