Rounding errors, of course. My EPS numbers are calculated based on other figures and rounded to the nearest cent. The yearly total EPS projection is the same calculation, but based on the totals for the year. Here's a little more detail:

Q1 = $0.0903
Q2 = $0.1171
Q3 = $0.1394
Q4 = $0.1962
1998 = $0.5430

Does that make me more credible now? <G>
