Message from Richard Knight....

I was going to post this, but i guess i am locked out till tommorrow as i have used my 3 turns. The worlds first general purpose electronic computer was a behemoth known as the ENIAC (Electronic Numerical integrator and Computer) which became operational in 1946. It's vacuum tube technology was unwieldy and complex, requiring the physical space of an entire room. Dedicated teams of specialists were trained to operate and maintain the system. Thus, was born the precursor of the modern mainframe. In it's hayday in the 1960's, IBM dominated the mainframe market, and by default, the entire computer industry.Second tier manufacturers included Burroughs, Univac(SPERRY), NCR, Control Data, and Honeywell, or otherwise known by their cumulative acronym of "the rest of the BUNCH". General Electric and RCA were also once in the mainframe computer business.Do you SEE the absence of the huge list of todays Computer related Companies? This entire COMPUTER INDUSTRY is still A BABY, with the totality of it's future virtually unknown and unplotted and uncharted. We will see Thousands of new companies come along that will be VIABLE CONTRIBUTERS to our still vague future.

Go ZULU-TECH.
