Along the same lines, I was surprised to see that INCY had a bid-ask spread of 1.25, earlier today. (It is now a more reasonable 0.5.)

The weird bid/ask prices are still popping up. I looked at the last 12 transactions at:
quote.com
and they were all bid/ask changes. The size on some are listed as 1, which I'm not sure if it means 100 shares or 1 share (other's show a size of 10 while others are 1000, so I think that the 1 may really be 1 share). The ask hit 16 1/2, but these changes happen so quickly, that there are no trades at that level. That "quick drop to 15 5/8" was followed by a quick move up because LGND's low at this time is 15 11/16 (and I did see that 15 3/8 price that lasted for less than a second).

I just saw a bid of 15 1/8, although all of the actual trades are in a very narrow 15 15/16 to 16 range. Thus within a few minutes I saw a bid of 15 1/8 and an ask of 16 1/2 although actual trades are within 1/16 of 16 and the high for the day is 16 1/4 with a low of 15 11/16.
