Lew, I think you have hit on one of the major hurdles that small companies like Franklin have to overcome. Let's say a large company evaluates the Tempest and naturally finds it to be fantastic. The price is right, and the company's financial guys calculate the big bucks they can save yearly by using the Tempest. Should be a no-brainer, right? Well, it's not quite that easy.

I work at Boeing. Although I'm not directly involved in procurement, I know some of the questions they ask in evaluating a supplier. Company size and past track record are 2 considerations. Will this company be able to deliver the amount of product they promise on schedule? Will they still be in business a year from now? Answers to those questions about Franklin may be a little sketchy right now. Franklin will have to point to people they are partnered with and the likelihood of achieving their business plan to give some reassurance that they are "for real." It is certainly not impossible, but it is more difficult for Franklin at this stage. Of course, other small companies are also in the same boat.

I am VERY optimistic about the company's future. No one ever said that it would be easy, though! ;)

Lew, I think the leasing idea is interesting and one that is in the game plan for FNET. I have heard the words lease, rent, joint venture, sell, and all the other ways possible to put our DVGs out there, so I think that we could see something alog those lines. And sales will beget sales, that first one to helps to prove to others that this is a real and viable product. I don't mena the first FTEL sales, I mean the first industry sale. Let someone step to the plate for us or our competition and buy a few hundred DVGs and place them in their branch offices around the company. An announcement like that could have a domino effect on the entire sector. We do have people buying and embracing the technology, such as Isphone and CT&T, but these are not Fortune 500 companies that will affect other Fortune 500 companies.

As for the corporate types not familiar with FTEL, on that I tend to disagree. I think that anyone who is in the market for an Intenet Telephony equipment and service knows exactly who we are. One interesting thing that Neil Wyenn mentioned was how easy it was to discuss IT with the CEO's etc of the companies we were selling to. He said he would call on the Tempest and that he would passed up the line, so that the top guys could hear it for themselves. I also observed a few corporate types at the Oct Demo greatly enjoying themselves by calling Family and Friends<GG> and saying, "Yes we are, can you beileve, we are talking through the Internet!"

The thing is we kept hearing and someone brought it up again today, about the comparison between Betamax and VHS, and I have to tell you that this is a flawed, at best, analogy. Everyone says that FTEL could go the way of Betamax if they do not do a better job of PR. The fact is that Betamax as a TECHNOLOGY, not a company was rejected! If people want to use this comparison, what is the alternative to Internet Telephony that is out there that will usurp the technology? Yes Betamax may have been better, but it was not compatable. FTEL IS!!!
The industry embraced VHS over Betamax, not Sony over Panasonic. But people continue to use this analogy and it really is apples to oranges.

The fact is that Internet Telephony is the Technology and FTEL is well positioned to capitalize on this Technology, I have yet to see an arguement made here that has truly argues the point.

We are positioned that does not mean we have won, it means we have as good a chance as any in this field to win! I have yet to see ONE person say that this company is NOT ready to cash in on their technology, all I HAVE seen is that some people doubt if they will cash in. Folks, if you know the sector and see that there is NO other Single Source Vendor for a Fortune 500 company to turn to for an end to end solution, then you need to look at the industry a little closer. I have yet to see another Gateway be declared as the Best Quality by various independent sources. As a matter of fact, what I have seen is a lot of intentions for products, or one's that call THEMSELVES NEAR toll quality. Thats a joke! FTEL IS TOLL QUALITY! And we have Evaluations by 10+ Fortune 500 companies currently going, It only takes one and the others will jump!

Lord I feel repitious.<GGGGG>

The game is only beginning and we are in it, what else do people expect?
