This stock and board are dead today. In response to gary's terse comments about his last communication from IR I would guess that mory & co are very busy if they don't have the curtesy to get back to him. From my experience this is either hubris stemming from something special that is not public or an aversion to speak straight to someone when the news is bad.

Any real substance to rumours of a buyout of ASND by Lucent? Has either company ever commented on a sale or purchase. Thanks The rumor has been around for a while. Lucent may not use a stock swap deal to acquire ASND until I forget the period Aug.-Oct. I think its the latter. Because of pooling of interest restriction. They can however acquire by other means before then. Neither company has made a statement that such a deal was even in talks. Lucent has stated I believe they want to acquire a large networker. I was told by an employee of Lucent at last winters Comdex, Lucent wanted either Cisco 3Com or Ascend....and they were going to announce a deal in Jan? Well....They bought Livingston....I think they will this year because synergy is good. so, its not something to bank on? Lets hope it happens...LU is a great stock to own shares of...pricey now. Jeff
