Greetings all...
I have been reading your posts here for sometime. I finally decided to join SI so I could respond to some of you.
For the most part, your posts here have given me some terrific insight to news releases that are sometimes difficult to find. It's nice to have a lot of "watchdogs" out there. I really appreciate the work that some of you have done.
I am in the brokerage business, and have often been a market maker on several securities (not JBIL). It is interesting to see some of the varied opinions of what market makers can do to the price's of securities.
I would agree that JBIL appears to have some questionable trading habits during the course of the day. I have been frustrated more than once with the executions in my own account. It's not a stock for the faint of heart.
I have to believe that JBIL's earnings will be very good come Tuesday.
They have a much larger production capacity which had restrained them previously, and should show savings of 1-2c per share from the recent currency valuations in Asia.
I think Wall Street has underestimated this company as well as misunderstood it. I have to believe that the future is very bright, this stock is selling at a very low multiple, appears to have negotiated a deal with "Big Blue"and will benefit from the upcoming "PC WARS" ala Gateway.
Look for big things here over the next few days....
Take care..

Muhney

Rosemary,

Glad to see that I made your day!

I am surprised though how quiet this thread is considering the significance of the news of insider buying!?! Maybe the posters here dumped their shares during the recent gyrations and are now too busy kicking themselves.

I am glad the Yahoo thread, thanx to you, has really picked up on this news. Notice the sudden end to all the gloom and doom talk about Jabil over there...

Anyway, I saw one poster on the Yahoo board question whether insiders were actually buying or dumping. Well according to Jabil's 10K report dated December 3rd. 1997, Jabil insiders owned 47% of the common stock:

>>CONTROL BY EXISTING STOCKHOLDERS

Officers, directors, principal stockholders and their affiliates own
approximately 47% of the Company's common stock outstanding. Consequently, the officers, directors, principal stockholders and their affiliates have significant control over the election of Jabil's directors, determine the outcome of most corporate actions requiring stockholder approval, and otherwise control the business of the Company.<<

sec.gov

(The above paragraph is located on either page 22 or 23 of the report.)

Since the 13G filing is dated February 16th. 1998, therefore, in little over two months the insiders increased their stake from 47% of the outstanding to over 65% of the common! Pretty bullish, don't you think?
