I just don't think it will be IBM. They have had lots of opportunities to buy nice companies over the past few years with their cash hoard, but no go except for Lotus. I just have a feeling they would rather buy software, services, or networking instead of Gateway.
If it were CPQ, they would use up most of their remaining cash hoard (or dilute even further), and the stock would promptly hit 20 or lower. I know the Japanese firms have not had much success in this area, but would not put it past one of the biggies making a move...
