You can play it either way. MDCO may well show greater relative strength short-term because of buyout speculation. And if the buyout happens, they'll probably cash in bigtime. But I feel more comfortable with ESV because it seems a better value. If the merger doesn't come through I think the likelihood is that ESV will outperform on that basis.
Actually, I think they are very similar companies. If you look at their average revenue growth over the past 5 years, I believe they are within a percentage point of each other (ESV slightly higher). I'd rather speculate on the possible buyout when it isn't already priced into the stock.

Question from a newbie: I can see that quite a few of you are bullish on FGII. Is this a good time to jump into it long? Do you think its bottomed out? Opinions appreciated.
