This just indicates an intention to make room for activities like acquisitions. useful when you've got a lofty stock price and the chance to consolidate weaker competitors in the industry. There is NO WAY the deal was agreed to that early. Deals between two public competitors just don't happen that way in this industry. It's easy to get confirmation of the timeframe from bankers involved in the deals, management at scopus, clarify and sebl. people on this thread can't reveal their sources or their contacts. Can't we just leave this alone and move on!!!
