There are two L-3's. One is as described above coming out of Lockheed. The other is Level-3, formerly the Kiewit Diversified Group, or Kiewit Class D. That is the fiberoptic network company. It trades on the OTC-BB under KIWT

Bernard,

Interestingly, there are TWO companies referred to as "L-3" coming out as IPOs in the near future. I was confused, too. The one you are referencing I believe is Level 3 Communications, referred to also as "L-3". It seems to be the current KIWT (Kiewet Class D. Stock) now traded on as a BB stock, which will be renamed, with new headquarters in Denver (now in Omaha). There is a thread for this stock on the Silicon Investor.

The L-3 company coming out as an IPO with the symbol LLL (so I just read) is entirely different...headquartered at 600 Third Avenue, NYC 10016.
It seems this company purchased the Satellite Transmission Systems
division from California Microwave in February. THIS L-3 COMPANY, as posted by another interested party on Yahoo who works there, is a
Lockheed Martin spin-off. Go over and peruse the notes. Very interesting!

Will this company work in conjunction with Loral...what does everyone think? Maybe we have TWO attractive companies in our midst!
