Jim,

I think the side-plays on this will be difficult to find, since most of the components which go into initial Merced systems are going to be similar to the components which go into high-end workstations and servers today: Fast SCSI drives, ECC RAM, etc.

The major effect to others could be on the downside. I'd expect sales of PA-RISC and Sun machines to slow down prior to the Merced introduction.
