Bay Networks, Inc. today announced that its Broadband Technology Division has shipped and installed more than 120,000 cable modems to business- and residential-users worldwide as well as deploying headend equipment capable of providing cable modem service to over 3 million homes. In addition, Bay Networks has signed a contract with Cogeco Cable of Ontario, Canada, to provide LANcity cable modems for use in all future WAVE internet access over cable service installations. This milestone and customer win further strengthens Bay Networks' dominant position as the world's leading supplier of cable modems. Bay Networks Reaches Important Milestone With more than 120,000 cable modems deployed throughout the world and over 3 million homes passed, Bay Networks is establishing a trend that allows a growing number of companies and individuals to access the internet more quickly, easily and securely than many of their competitors' solutions.
